2023 has certainly been one for the books. So much so that we’re just now getting around to sharing just how much …
Intimidated by gardening and agriculture? We plan to change that.
We are an award-winning agricultural nonprofit headquartered in West Pullman, Chicago. We grow gardeners globally and believe that food connects us all.
Here at We Sow We Grow, we believe that it is possible for anyone to grow fresh fruits and vegetables. Yes, we even mean you.
How are we so confident about it? Well, because we did it! Our founder, Natasha Nicholes never intended to be an urban farmer, but through patience and practical learning, she has. Following her example, we are working to remove the fear and reservations many have about growing their own food.
When we say we grow gardeners, we mean it. Our method includes building community and providing a safe space to learn alongside us. Starting from our South Side Chicago urban farm, we intend to cultivate a global community that connects growers from any place, at any level. Come grow with us!

WSWG is the definition of “we.” It is exciting to be a sliver of the voices and resources being shared in an international learning community. WSWG shines bright!

Natasha and WSWG have taught me to navigate the complexities of gardening such as seed starting and transplanting, garden planning and disease management in a simple way that is easy to understand and implement. Her attention to detail and support is truly evident and valued greatly.

WSWG taught me how to grow. I was not into nature or dirt or anything, but through this organization, I learned that in order to grow anything, you have to get a little dirty. I learned that even the smallest seed, can bring forth the biggest, most beautiful bounty. WSWG is about so much more than gardening. It's about finding the seed within and nurturing it to its full capacity. Oh, and I learned we can have chickens in the city.
